Coomba Park Tidal Pool – Coomba Park, NSW 2428

My experience in the pool Coomba Park Tidal Pool must be one of the most isolated swimming enclosures I've been to since I began this quest to swim the NSW ocean pools, harbour baths and other outdoor pools across the state. The peace on this part of Wallis Lake is extraordinary. Gymea Bay Baths – Gymea, NSW 2227

The gymea is a type of lily. My experience in the pool Gymea Bay Baths have one of the most beautiful backdrops of Sydney's tidal baths, but boy you need to pick the right moment to come for a swim. Northbridge Baths – Northbridge, NSW 2063

Time the visit really well and you'll be here at high tide, when the laned section must be around 4m deep. There's a sandy Read more [...]

Bomaderry Aquatic Centre – NSW 2541

The end of the line for trains from Sydney My experience in the pool The air temperature was little more than 10C on this June morning when I turned up for a dip. Thank goodness there are no temperature limits here (as there are in places like South Australia, where 26C can be the point below which swimming is considered dangerous!!). This delightful little aquatic centre fits snugly in between the local High School, Basketball centre and bowling greens, with the pool surrounded by Read more [...]
